I just can't sleep tonight
Knowing that things ain't right
It's in the papers, it's on the TV
It's everywhere that I go
Children are crying
Soldiers are dying
Some people don't have a home
But I know there's sunshine behind that rain
I know there's good times behind that pain
Can you tell me how I can make a change?
I close my eyes and I can see a better day
I close my eyes and pray
I close my eyes and I can see a better day
I close my eyes and pray
Pray: by Justin Beiber
Such a simple song and yet so powerful to me.
It has power because of the times we live in today. There was a time in this country when the only songs people knew were church hymns. People didn't need a song to remind them to pray. Justin Beiber, a young man, sings a song about prayer when so many people in our world are trying to ignore God or deny the existence of our Heavenly Father. I commend him for having the courage to even sing a song about prayer to mainstream media and mainstream radio. Such a great young man. (Quite honestly I don't actually know ONE thing about this man) But becuase of this song that he sings, I know he believes in our Father in Heaven and I know he believes in Prayer. To me, that says enough. I don't need to know anything else about his character. He proves his good standards by his actions and words.
If we all close our eyes and pray, we can see a better day. The Lord will make it so.
Today in my Stake Conference, Pesident Mikel Anderson asked us to dedicate our next Fast Sunday, March 25, to our community. He asked us to pray and fast for our families, our neighbors and all the members of our community. Help keep us safe from harm. I believe this is an awesome way to show our faith to our Heavenly Father that we put our trust and faith in Him and we believe that
we can see a better day!
